The amount of water shown in the carafe is also the exact amount of water in the water reservoir, which is a FIRST for this type of machine. The easy-pour feature couldn’t be easier to use. This feature causes the carafe to be balanced while water is being poured into the reservoir; I have yet to spill water while pouring, which is very unusual for me! The coffee is brewed much hotter compared to my older coffeemakers of the past. I consider this a big plus. The charcoal filter is easy enough to use. This consists of a separate compartment with a long rod. There is a small plastic piece on the bottom of the rod which opens up and houses the filter. I use filtered water (not tap) so I cannot give an accurate statement regarding the quality of this filter.
