A Review of the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200

The Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 could be considered the best standard coffee brewer, according to reviews. Critics believe this automatic-drip machine is much better than a standard, low-priced coffee machine because of its stability, fantastic coffee and impressive features, which include a small-batch setting, a programmable timer and a great, temperature-adjustable hot plate. Keepers coffee mention discuss in their review how the three colour finish looks great on the Cuisinart. Additionally , this coffee maker comes with an uncommonly long, three-year guarantee. As an aside, if the Cuisinart Brew Central is a little out of your budget, have a look at the Mr. Coffee JWX27info (*Est. $45). This coffee maker is a standard programmable coffee machine that has a plastic casing (rather than stainless-steel) and has no small-batch setting.

Pros and Cons of the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200

The pros are:

  • Great-tasting coffee
  • Three different color options
  • The small-batch setting
  • The three-setting hot plate
  • A three-year warranty

The cons are:

  • The clock isn’t backlit

The amount of water shown in the carafe is also the exact amount of water in the water reservoir, which is a FIRST for this type of machine. The easy-pour feature couldn’t be easier to use. This feature causes the carafe to be balanced while water is being poured into the reservoir; I have yet to spill water while pouring, which is very unusual for me! The coffee is brewed much hotter compared to my older coffeemakers of the past. I consider this a big plus. The charcoal filter is easy enough to use. This consists of a separate compartment with a long rod. There is a small plastic piece on the bottom of the rod which opens up and houses the filter. I use filtered water (not tap) so I cannot give an accurate statement regarding the quality of this filter.

There are more than 2000 owners of this machine who have left product reviews on various sites such as Amazon.com, cook.com and so on. They give this product an average rating of 4.5 out of 5.
